African DoomsDay Clock

The current wave of self-generated hysteria and histrionics in South African government circles, following the revelations of corruption in every department at every level, has been no less than a poorly orchestrated attempt at diverting attention away from What-Is-Really-Going-On.

Dressed up as damage control, this amateur “management by crisis event” constitutes a clear and present danger to our society.
That the source of that danger is within the majority party of this country’s’ government, is a very clear signal, of approaching intransigence

That certain South African government ministers had ever hoped that some fabricated plot to “oust” the president could be used to justify their activities is laughable, were it not so deplorable. Even the word “oust” tastes of revolutionist jingoism.
In every democracy, political power and the incumbents are open to challenge. Because the only way in, is by the system of popular vote.

“Oust” implies armed revolution, suggests taking power by force and implies the threat if instability.

And it justifies a governments’ so called “right” to clamp down on “dissidents” – Uncle Bob up north is the latest current example.

WE still have the right to vote for whom we want. So how could some one hope to plot to oust the president?

We are being tricked. Because we are too lazy to look and see. Our apathy is fault that we are not more vocal in Voting these people out. We have the Right of Recall and can vote people out.

If we don’t do this soon we will loose that right – and soon after the right to vote. Mozambique, Angola, Burundi, DRC, Rwanda are all proof of that. The general rule does not create an exception. It highlights it. Yet all the conditions for the exception can fall easily to the general rule.

So we have to ask our selves who are the real schemers here. Who would stand to gain the most out of all this badly managed manipulation.  Perhaps the poor quality of the manipulation, is a manipulation itself.

Africa’s record of violent political upheaval over the last 20 years – without the help, presence, collusion, complicity or assistance of so called colonialists has been a bloody shame.

And all Africa should be ashamed.

All we Africans should appreciate our shame and raise our eyes to the sun and get on with doing the work that will wash away this shame. And the blood.

If we do not do this we will soon be able to wash in the blood of our children.

And then even tears will not cleanse Africa. The light will go out and this will truly be the “Dark Continent” of our forefathers.

Persons interested in seeing how close we are to the brink, can order an advance extract of my Soon-To-Be-Popular book: “African DoomsDay Clock”

The book is neither alarmist, nor of a “crank” nature.
It is a mathematical model generated from a set of complex formulae.
The formulae are based on such issues as:
• capability of agriculture to support population
• ability of government to maintain rule of justice with law and order
• delivery of health and education
• level of public accountability
• degree of government or corporate corruption
• crime rate per capita
• degree of freedom of information
• latitude of media freedom…

It details the statistics of repressive or ineffective governance against the likelihood of severe social disruption, catastrophic national upheaval and Massive Fatal Events.

It is not far to midnight. Sadly, the last lights in Africa can be extinguished in this beautiful country
